Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Rwanda and Transfer to Radisson Blue Hotel (5 Star)
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you’ll be welcomed by our Company Representative and English-speaking Driver Guide. Check-in at the Radisson Blu Hotel, followed by a city tour of Kigali, which includes visiting the Genocide memorial site and the Richard Kandt Museum. Enjoy lunch at Republican Lounge, a restaurant in Kimihurura, and check-in for an overnight stay at Radisson Blue (5 stars).
Day 2: Kigali – Akagera National Park
After an early morning breakfast, leave for Akagera National Park (approximately a 3-hour drive). Check-in at the Magashi Tented Camp and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, go on a game drive or relax at the camp. Expect to see a variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffalos, giraffes, gazelles, lions, baboons, warthogs, and more.
Day 3: Game Drive and Boat Ride at Akagera National Park
Start the day with an early breakfast before heading out on a morning game drive. Spot wildlife, including birds, elephants, buffalos, giraffes, gazelles, lions, baboons, and more. After returning to the lodge for lunch, go on a boat ride on Lake Ihema, where you can see hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species.
Day 4: Full-day Game Drive in Akagera National Park
Wake up early for a morning game drive in Akagera National Park. Enjoy sightings of various wildlife species before returning for lunch. In the afternoon, go on a boat trip on Lake Ihema, where you can see aquatic wildlife and bird species.
Day 5: Akagera National Park to Volcanoes National Park – Five Volcanoe Boutique
Leave Akagera National Park for Volcanoes National Park, enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way. Check-in at the Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel. In the afternoon, prepare for gorilla trekking the next day.
Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Start early for an unforgettable gorilla trekking experience. Venture into the forest with experienced guides and trackers to find the elusive mountain gorillas. Spend an hour observing these magnificent creatures before returning to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy optional activities or relax at the lodge.
Day 7: Golden Monkey Tracking and Transfer to Lake Kivu Serena Hotel
In the morning, go on a golden monkey trekking adventure. After lunch at the lodge, transfer to Lake Kivu Serena Hotel. Enjoy the stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
Day 8: Morning Boat Cruise and Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Take a morning boat cruise on Lake Kivu before departing for Nyungwe Forest National Park. Check-in at Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel, where you’ll have lunch. In the afternoon, go on a canopy adventure walk.
Day 9: Chimpanzee Trekking in Nyungwe Forest National Park
Embark on a thrilling chimpanzee trekking hike in Nyungwe Forest National Park. Listen for the sounds of the chimpanzees and keep an eye out for other wildlife. After lunch at the lodge, spend the afternoon at leisure.
Day 10: Drive from Nyungwe NP through Nyanza National Museum with Transfer to Kigali International Airport
Drive to Kigali, stopping at Butare National Museum and the King’s Palace. Have lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to Kigali International Airport for your flight home.
