On the first day of the 4 Days Gorilla Trekking Safari, our driver guide will meet and greet you from either Entebbe International Airport or Kampala. He will then brief you about your adventure and thereafter, transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. This drive will take about 10 hours drive since it is a driving distance of about 500km. On arrival at the park, you will check in to your lodge for a delicious dinner as well as an overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience – Batwa Community Encounter

On this day, you will need to be very early, by at least 6:00am, have breakfast and then pack your lunch. Thereafter, drive ahead reaching the Park headquarters, where you will be briefed by the ranger guides on the guidelines to follow while in the park then proceed with the ranger to search for the mountain gorillas. This trek involves hiking up and down the rugged paths which will require you to be physically fit and also carry a walking stick. Also, you can hire the local porters to help carry your luggage.

When you meet the gentle giants, ensure to follow what your ranger guide tells you especially standing 6 meters away from them as you watch the mothers feed the young ones, juveniles playing and the silver backs guarding their territory. You will do all these within a maximum of 1 hours. How long this search will take is based on where the gorillas are located and feeding from, therefore it can take from 2-8 hours. Also, ensure to carry enough water, a rain coat, hiking boots, long sleeved shirts, and energy giving snacks. Return back later to your lodge after trekking.

Have relaxation and then later head out to visit the Batwa community and see how they live and enjoy their cultural performances through music, dance and drama.

Bunyonyi locally means “small birds” due to the abundance of small birds within the area. Lake Bunyonyi is believed to be the deepest lake in Uganda and also the second deepest in East Africa. Lake Bunyonyi is one of the best places to relax after your gorilla trek. There are optional activities around the lake including canoe rides and nature walks.
